The Service- und Maintenance Center It does not correspond to our understanding of supplying machines or materials and afterwards to leave you alone. We take care that you are able to use our machines optimally and supply or recommend the suitable materials and tools to meet your demands. We are one of the solely companies which manufacture bookbinding machines and supply the suitable material as well. This means, that we know which materials run best on our machines. We have bookbinders in our team who know about techniques and crafts; our machines are designed for the bookbinders’ needs. We do know what really "works" and have tested the machines like you would do. Nevertheless, there are always incidents or problems which we could not prevent. Therefore, we are grateful for each reference which comes from our customers. It is our tradition at Schmedt to learn from our customers and to convert this information into further development and advancement of our machines. Training and Installation We have many years of experience in mechanical engineering and work in close co-operation with many experienced bookbinders. This enables us to train operators in operating the machines and technicians in maintenance. Prä-machines are well-known in the industry for a perfect adjustment to individual needs. Even if you did not buy a new machine from Schmedt, we offer trainings and support. You may gain from our bookbinding experts! Just ask us! Service and Maintenance Of course we take care of the service repairs of the Prä-machines. Within the warranty, and later on. We supply all necessary spare parts for the service or the repairs at your shop. Machines which are no longer manufactured, may represent a frequent problem: No help, no support, no maintenance. Our specialists will help you then. We accept these challenges, in order to make such machines work for you again. Often, these devices cannot be replaced simply by adding new devices and a repair often is an economic alternative. With the extension of our manufacturing facility, this service will be expanded and optimized in the future. We are mobile and will maintenance your equipment at your shop on demand. Introduction into Bookbinding With selling our machines we often get enquiries for support in bookbinding. Thus, we offer a basic training "book manufacturing". More and more printers produce small quantities and "one offs" on their own. But they do not have the experience in bookbinding. To operate our machine in the right manner and to manufacture photo books of "books on demand", we show you what kind of supplies you need and how they are to be used on our machines. However, you can not see this as a substitute for the education bookbinders went through, their education usually takes three years. Tayloring Service In Hamburg we have cutting machines, sheeters and trimmer to cut boards and cloth to certain sizes. As per your guideline, we cut boards into your formats or cloth into sheets according to your needs. Clean and professional. Sometimes it is urgent.
