1. General information

We deliver daily. Orders received before 1.00 h pm will be usually shipped the same day, otherwise we carry out orders under normal conditions within 24 hours.
Urgent deliveries can also be shipped (against extra charges) by courier.
The dispatch, as far as not agreed differently, always takes place in accordance with our general business terms at the risk of the buyer. With handing over the goods to carriers like forwarders, mail, UPS etc. the transportation risk is merged to the buyer.


2. Modes of Shipment
We supply our goods to Germany and Europe by United Parcel Service. Countries outside of Europe are partly supplied by UPS, partly with other carriers of our choice. Supplies within Hamburg and environment will be executed with our own delivery service.
Shipments with more than 50kg weight in Germany and Europe are carried out by truck service. To other countries goods will be shipped also by sea or air freight, depending upon agreement.
On demand we also offer neutral shipping.


3. Shipping Costs

Germany
Orders with a net amount of more than Euro 200. - were shipped free. Exception: For heavy goods such as glue, pasteboard, paper. metal goods or machines shipping costs will be invoiced separately or a surcharge of Euro 15. - will be added on top of the shipping costs below. Overnight- and express shipments will be charged extra.
Minimum purchase order value is Euro 25. - + Value added tax.

Europe (EC)
Orders with a net amount of more than Euro 500. - were shipped free. Exception: For heavy goods such as glue, pasteboard, paper, metal goods or machines, shipping costs will be invoiced separately or a surcharge of Euro 25. - will be added on top of the shipping costs. Overnight- and express shipments will be charged extra.
Minimum purchase order value is Euro 50. - +. Value added tax. The value added tax will not be invoiced if a VAT-ID is present. In this case please indicate the European VAT-ID number.

Cash on Delivery
For shipments with C.O.D. there is a separate C.O.D. charge


4. Transport Damages

Please check your goods immediately by arrival for damages. If the packing is damaged, please let the damage be confirmed immediately in writing on the delivery note/waybill by the carrier (post office, parcel service or forwarder) .
For deliveries by post office please announce the damage within 24 hours at your local post office.
In case of supply by a parcel service please announce the damage within 48 hours to Schmedt.
In case of supply by a forwarder please announce the damage within 4 days to Schmedt.

If the packing is intact, but content is damaged please announce the damage within 48 hours to Schmedt.


5. Complaints and Claims

Complaints due to of transport damages are possible only after immediate notice of loss. With other complaints please clarify the proceeding by phone or in writing with us. Returns have to be effected prepaid, others are not accepted by us.
Please make sure, that you mention the name of the person at Schmedt you have talked to.

For not commercial buyers the right to return of 14 days applies, in which the goods can be returned, if unused and intact. The return must take place carriage free. If not, the goods are not accepted by us.


6. Terms of Payment

As a registered customer in Germany and Europe you may order with us on open account. We ask new customers to choose for their order the payment terms "pre-payment", "cash on delivery" or payment by credit card through our SSL-payment service. Alternatively you can also give us a direct debit authorization, for which we grant a discount payment of 3% (not available for every country).

For buyers outside of Europe we ask for pre-payment or payment by credit card in each case.
