From our own responsibility, we already support training facilities for years during their different tasks. Many facilities use our machines, in order to train people in bookbinding techniques. It does not only concern bookbinders, but also printers, commercial graphic artists etc. and pupils attending art classes in school or handicapped.
At the 100 year anniversary of the Munich School for Masters of the bookbinding craft
In the future we plan a closer co-operation with institutions, those in the bookbinding handicraft and the related crafts, as well as schools and universities which have their emphasis in bookbinding related education.
We have very good relations with many facilities abroad, which we support as much as possible. In the future we will report on our activities here.

...The Austrian Bookbinders Guild hands out a tool box to the bookbinders trainees for their first year as a gift. These are to support the education of the trainees within the Austrian bookbinders craftship and are sponsored by Schmedt.
...At the book fair 2006 in Leipzig the Leipzig bookbinders guild were demonstrating to give impressions of the bookbinders handcraft. Furthermore there will be displayed exhibits in a showcase. We sponsored the guild with materials...

At the Print- and Bookbinding Museum in Mainz, a show workshop opened in 2007. There, school classes and interested visitors can watch bookbinders making books and maybe take their personal book home. The workshop is working with Prä-Machines from Schmedt. We are a major sponsor of the museum.
