Recommendations for processing:
These papers, especially the smooth, glossy unembossed version, are more susceptible to creasing than other types due to their special metallic coating. In general, Nobilis papers should be handled with care when unpacking and processing.
When adhesive is applied during book cover production, approximately 90% of any creases are usually smoothed out again as the paper becomes more flexible.
We recommend casing-in (connecting them to the book block) Nobilis-covered book covers immediately after production. The paper, which is still damp from the adhesive, prevents the coating from breaking in the joint.
For the unembossed glossy version, we recommend using it only as a half-bound book rather than in the joint area.
First, the spine and joint area (usually 2–4 cm beyond the joint) are covered with a durable material (e.g. book cloth or leather). The paper is then glued to the remaining area of the cover boards.

Nobilis is a high-quality metallic paper for bookbinding, packaging, and creative paper applications. Available in gold, silver, and copper, the range includes 26 variants with different textures and levels of shine – from smooth to embossed, from subtly shimmering to glossy.
Nobilis is ideal for elegant book covers, invitations, and envelopes. The paper can be cut, creased, laminated, and embossed. Nobilis can be printed excellently with conventional laser toner printers. This makes it possible to create truly individual projects with that certain extra!
Please note: The smooth, glossy version in particular is sensitive to creasing and should be handled very carefully. For this variant, we recommend using it as a half-binding material rather than in the direct fold area.

To make the metallic effect visible, the second image of each item shows the surface under directed light. As a result, the color may intentionally appear different there – this is deliberate and highlights the material’s shine.
