The PräGnant XS is a compact manual foil-blocking press for one-off titles and name stampings. The book case (or other stampable product) is placed upright into the machine so that the blocking process may be observed all the time and – if necessary – be corrected or repeated. Expensive faulty blockings are therefore eliminated. The good view onto the product makes the machine also suitable for other individual works (gilding, blocking ornaments etc.). The quick change of type as well as the easy handling of the machine and its accuracy allow high-quality outcomes.
The PräGnant XS is available as a basic unit without equipment and as a complete package for 230V or 110V. Scope of delivery for complete package:
- Electrically heated self-centering typeholder with 90mm span (9000-010) for 230V, (9000-011) for 110V
- Thermostat for controlling temperature of the typeholder (6707-010) for 230V, (6707-020) for 110V
- Angled plate, 30 mm for blocking finished books (9000-024)
- Magnet for fixing the product in position (9000-054)
- Steel ruler, 30 cm (6247-030)
- Die-holding plate (9002-060)
- Pair of tweezers (6268-002)
- Starter set stamping foils (4800-001)
- Set of 3 blocking dies, approx. 10 x 10 mm (smiley, heart, star) (66570001)

Besides the standard version, the machine is also available as Type PräGnant XS-110 for the US and Japanese market. This model is equipped with a heated typeholder and multi-purpose thermostat for 110V.
Process
- First, the characters of the title to be stamped are put into the typeholder by means of tweezers.
- Then the typeholder is fixed in the machine and is heated by thermostat.
- Now the product support bar is adjusted to the required height and the product to be stamped is placed on to the bar.
- Then, if necessary, the stamping depth can be adjusted.
- The embossing can be carried out by holding the foil against the product and a quick, hard press with the hand lever.

Advantages
The PräGnant XS is a very special embossing press. On the one hand, it convinces with its compact size, which makes it very easy to transport (e.g. in the optional trolley). On the other hand, many individual settings can be made - if necessary, the inclination of the embossing table, the embossing depth can be adjusted and the temperature can be controlled via an external thermostat. It is particularly worth mentioning that the embossing pressure can be precisely adjusted via the lever and thus many different materials can be neatly embossed. Since different texts are usually embossed, the embossing lines can be changed quickly. Furthermore, both characters and blocks can be embossed. In the conception of the PräGnant, it was taken into consideration that often finished products are personalised and that incorrect embossing can then become all the more expensive. Therefore, the view of and access to the product to be embossed was optimised in order to make re-embossing with adjusted temperature or higher pressure possible - without moving the product.
