Gluing machine for hotmelt gelatine (protein glue)
The PräziCoat Pro is a gluing machine with rotating doctor roll for the use of hotmelt gelatine (hot protein glue) and is well-known for its clean application of glue. Roller speed as well as thickness of the glue layer may be adjusted. The machine has a patented, automatic viscosity control (AVC) regulating the solids of the glue at any time. This eliminates downtime caused by controlling the viscosity manually. The PräziCoat Pro is equipped with a built-in timer. The glue is heated to the preset time so that it is ready for use at production start without requiring the operator to start it up ahead of time. To avoid condensation the machine is equipped with an airing table that regulates condensation at the material support, transport rollers and underneath the feeding table. After finishing the gluing job, hardly any cleaning is required. The machine is switched off and cools down. Neither roller, glue tray, viscosity control nor doctor rolls need to be cleaned. If cleaning is required, e.g. in the case of glue change, the glue tray may be removed easily.
The machine is available in two versions:
- PräziCoat Pro TouchScreen - standalone machine; all settings are controlled by a tablet PC
- PräziCoat Pro - without tablet PC to combine with the PräziCase Pro casemaker or to integrate into the Cover-1 case-making system
Process
- The sheet is fed to the infeed rollers by the operator and automatically forwarded to the upper glue application roller.
- Removers lift the glued sheet from the applicator roller.
- The operator receives the single-sided glued sheet.
- The material can then be processed immediately.

Advantages
The PräziCoat Pro is a sophisticated gluing machine that allows all relevant parameters to be controlled while minimising operator effort. With its clean, adjustable glue application and adjustable roller speed, processing can be precisely controlled. Difficulties normally encountered when working with hotmelt are eliminated by the integrated viscosity control. The ventilated table ensures that condensation is prevented. The low cleaning effort as well as the possibility to switch on the PräziCoat Pro by timer and let it warm up are comfort features that make work easier.

Combined in the barcode-controlled Cover-1 system
The PräziCoat Pro is an important component of the barcode-controlled Cover-1 case-making system. The Cover-1 system is a semi-automatic system for producing book cases, especially for the requirements of on-demand production. All format settings are transferred to the system via a barcode - this makes true on-demand production possible.
