The PräGnant machine is a foil blocking press specifically designed for the needs of craft bookbinders and library binders. The typeholders are self-centering and, by means of a quick-acting clamp, they allow an extremely easy and quick change of single type or complete lines. This qualifies the PräGnant to be used wherever “one-off” titles are to be blocked. The book case (or other product) is placed upright into the machine, so that the blocking process can be observed all the time and if necessary be repeated without touching the case or taking it out of the machine. Expensive faulty blockings are therefore eliminated. The good view onto the case while blocking makes the machine also suitable for special gilding work such as blocking ornaments. The PräGnant - a unique machine for a wide range of applications, including bookbinding, pattern-book manufacturing, and gold-blocking departments. Moreover, the quick change of type as well as the easy handling of the machine help to reduce costs in the field of gold blocking. With its wide range of accessories which are to be chosen according to customer's individual requirements, the PräGnant is extremely versatile.
The PräGnant is available as a basic unit without equipment and as a complete package for 230V or 110V. Scope of delivery for complete package:
- Electrically heated self-centering typeholder with 90mm span (9000-010) for 230V, (9000-011) for 110V
- Thermostat for controlling temperature of the typeholder (6707-010) for 230V, (6707-020) for 110V
- Angled plate, 50 mm for blocking finished books (9000-025)
- Magnet for fixing the product in position (9000-054)
- Steel ruler, 30 cm (6247-030)
- Die-holding plate (9002-060)
- Pair of tweezers (6268-002)
- Starter set stamping foils (4800-001)
- Set of 3 blocking dies, approx. 10 x 10 mm (smiley, heart, star) (66570001)

Process
- For embossing, the required accessory, e. g. a typeholder with the character type to be embossed, has to be fitted and heated up to the desired stamping temperature by thermostat.
- Next the material to be embossed is placed on the lower feeder guide bar of the table and centered.
- The desired embossing height can be set using the handwheel.
- Now the embossing can be carried out with a quick, hard press on the hand lever.

Is the basic machine without any accesories the machine I can see on the picture? So with the foilsystem and the 20cm long heated lettertool?
Advantages
Thanks to the few process steps and intuitive handling, the embossing press is particularly easy to operate. Among other things, the embossing table can be adjusted in its inclination, which makes embossing on finished books possible. The embossing pressure can be variably adjusted and fixed as desired. The typeholders are all self-centring, which ensures perfect embossing results. At the same time, incorrect embossing is avoided thanks to a particularly good view of the embossed material, as the product does not have to be moved to see the result - if the embossing is not optimal, the pressure or temperature can be readjusted. The embossing can then be repeated in exactly the same place.
